Summit Country Day junior wide receiver Xavier Johnson and Cooper senior wide receiver Dante Hendrix received special national attention fromMaxPreps for their respective plays last week.

Hendrix’s amazing catch was the No. 1 play on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 over the weekend. The Indiana State commit also garnered attention from MaxPreps as having one of the top 10 plays of the week nationally as the Jaguars defeated Boone County 41-13.

"It was great recognition for our program," Cooper coach Randy Borchers said. "This is a once in a lifetime moment for one of our players to make ESPN. It couldn't happen to a better kid. I am really for him."

Johnson, who has offers from the University of Cincinnati and University of Toledo for football and Wright State for basketball, had the No. 4 play nationally with his 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 55-6 win over visiting Clark Montessori. That return was a school record, according to Summit coach Justin Isaacs.

This is the first time this season MaxPreps has recognized two area athletes for having a top 10 play of the week.
