MASON, Ohio -- Kings 2017 quarterback Tyler Knecht has committed to play football at Siena Heights University, an NAIA program in Adrian, Mich.

"Siena is every excited about him as they should be," Kings coach Andy Olds said.

Knecht, who is 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, was the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2016.

He threw for 2,199 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 649 yards and 17 touchdowns last season. He had a season-high 297 yards passing and four touchdowns in a 48-14 win at Glen Este Sept. 23.

Knecht was an Associated Press Division II second-team all-district selection last season.

Knecht holds school records in total yards, completions, attempts, completion percentage and average per game.
