The region’s first high school football games of the 2016 season will be played starting Friday night in Southeastern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.

And while Ohio doesn’t start until Aug. 24, there is plenty of news to discuss this week including the Ohio High School Athletic Association decision to place sanctions on the Massillon Washington football program and former La Salle coach Nate Moore for recruiting violations. Former La Salle standout offensive lineman Thayer Munford was also reportedly ruled ineligible for this season at Massillon.

WCPO sports anchor Keenan Singleton, WCPO.com high school reporter Mike Dyer and TriStateFootball.com’s Greg Shoemaker preview some of the top games and offer their observations.

Plus, you will hear insight from Lakota West athletic director Scott Kaufman about the OHSAA’s decision to move the Division I playoff system back to four regions and where competitive balance stands statewide.
