Highlands battled back from a game down twice to edge Brossart in five games on Thursday.
The Bluebirds (2-5) won against the Mustangs (4-3), 18-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21, 15-13.
Junior middle blocker Jessica Ginter finished with 16 kills and six blocks, junior setter Kaitlin Hall dished for 37 assists and served for four aces, and senior defensive specialist Abby Schweitzer added 26 digs for Highlands.
SIMON KENTON EDGES CAMPBELL – Junior defensive specialist Elizabeth Manser set a career high with 10 aces as Simon Kenton (8-2) defeated Campbell County (5-7), 28-30, 25-11, 25-23, 25-19.
Senior outside hitter Kaitlin Murray tallied 27 kills, and senior setter Sophie Dunn dished for 55 assists in the Pioneers’ win.
RYLE REMAINS UNBEATEN – Junior outside hitter/setter Ashley Bush piled up 16 kills and 21 assists as Ryle (10-0) defeated Oak Hills (3-2), 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.
Senior outside hitter/setter Harper Hempel chipped in with 12 kills and 23 assists as the Raiders won their 10th straight match to open the season.
VILLA DOWNS DAYTON – Senior middle hitter Ellie Stoddart rolled up five kills and five blocks as Villa Madonna (4-2) defeated Dayton (4-6), 25-16, 25-10.
Junior setter Charissa Junker dished for nine assists in the Blue Lightning win.
NOTRE DAME DOWNS LAKOTA EAST – Senior setter Elly Ogle notched 32 assists and nine blocks as Notre Dame (5-1) defeated Cincinnati Lakota East (4-3), 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.
Senior libero Meredith Klare tallied 11 digs for the Pandas.
SCOTT SINKS CONNER – Sophomore outside hitter Jessica Tapp tallied 11 kills as Scott (5-4) defeated Conner (2-4), 25-20, 25-10, 25-17.
Eagles senior libero Amber Robinson added 13 digs, and senior middle blocker Claire Gerhardstein chipped in with four blocks.
