8/4 BGOLF: Ryle rules Greenwood tourney

Raiders beat St. X by three strokes

Led by three seniors, Ryle topped Louisville St. Xavier by three strokes to win the Greenwood Invitational on Monday.

Senior Jake Poore led the field with a 2-under 70, birdying three of the final five holes at Olde Stone Golf Club in Bowling Green.

Raiders senior Zach Adams finished second with a 71, and senior Logan Gamm posted a 77.

TOP TEAMS: 1. Ryle 300; 2. Louisville St. Xavier 303; 3. McCracken County 309.

GRANT TAKES FOURTH IN NORTH LAUREL – Senior Zach Kellam finished second with an even-par 72 to pace the Braves in the North Laurel Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Jackson County won by six strokes, led by medalist Zach Norris.

Kellam birdied four holes – 4, 5, 8 and 17 – and hit 15 greens in regulation. Freshman Kyle West recorded an 82 and sophomore Jacob Brolijk shot an 83 for Grant County.
