Colonels win in second overtime

Dixie Heights junior Austin Stacey collected a ball on a header into the box, got past a pair of defenders and scored the winning goal three minutes into the second overtime as the Colonels downed Villa Madonna, 3-2, on Saturday.

The Colonels (2-2-1) took a two goal lead into the half on goals by Wynn Feltner and Andres Rivera. It was the fourth goal in five games for Rivera, a junior forward.

Villa responded with two goals after the break, tying it up with 10 minutes remaining on Thomas Schutzman's equalizer until Stacey scored his third goal of the season to grab the win.

HALFTIME: 2-0, Dixie Heights. GOALS: D—Feltner, Rivera, Stacey. V— Schutzman, Campbell. RECORDS: Dixie Heights 2-2-1, Villa Madonna 2-4.

SIMON KENTON 2, HIGHLANDS 0 — Senior forward Tyler Mathis scored two minutes into the second half and added an insurance goal as time wound down with an own-goal as the Pioneers got back in the win column.
