Crusaders beat Bellevue, Beechwood

St. Henry beat Bellevue and Beechwood to win the All ‘A’ regional tournament on Friday.

The Crusaders (4-0) took down Bellevue (1-1), 25-2, 25-4 in a semifinal, and St. Henry topped Beechwood, 25-17, 25-21 in the championship match.

Beechwood (4-1) beat Villa Madonna (2-2) in its semifinal, 25-17, 25-13.

Senior setter Kendyll Kraus dished for 30 assists, junior outside hitter Janelle Tobler recorded 15 kills and junior libero Kassidy Schreiber finished with 15 digs in the two matches combined to pace the Crusaders.

All made the all-tournament team, and Schreiber was named the most valuable player.

St. Henry advances to the All ‘A’ state tournament, which will be played on Sept. 20 at Jeffersontown.
