Junior right-hander Elizabeth Sims belted a three-run homer and she made it stand up as Conner held off Ryle, 3-1 in a District 33 semifinal on Wednesday.

Sims’ fifth home run of the season cleared the center field fence. Her blast plated sophomore shortstop Jenna Hicks, who drew a walk, and senior center fielder Sydney Himes, who reached on a bunt single.

The Cougars will face Boone County at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the championship game.
