4/1 BASE: Howard dominates for Ludlow

Senior takes no-hitter into the sixth

Ludlow senior right-hander Jerad Howard carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, and struck out 11 in 6 1/3 innings as the Panthers beat Williamstown, 8-2 on Tuesday.

Sophomores shortstop Evan Slone and Matthew Gibson knocked in two runs each for Ludlow. Slone singled in a run in the first and seventh innings, and Gibson belted a two-out, two-run base hit in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Suchanek plated two with a second-inning double, and he belted a three-run homer – his first of the season – in the fifth.
