A leadoff walk in the fourth innings kept Notre Dame sophomore right-hander Abby Jones from a perfect game en route to her no-hitter in a 17-0 win over Beechwood on Monday.

Senior center fielder Laura Finke hit her first homer of the season and the first fence-clearing shot of her career. It was a solo shot to left center field.

Finke also doubled home two in the third inning en route to a five-RBI performance.

Senior first baseman Maria Schaefer doubled home three in the fourth inning as she finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and five RBI.

NEWPORT 10, HERITAGE 0 – Wildcats junior right-hander Katlyn Hoeh tossed a one-hit shutout and drove in two runs.

The second batter Hoeh faced managed a single, but she held the rest of the Eagles’ batters hitless.

Hoeh also singled home a run in the second inning and plated another with a fourth-inning double.

Newport sophomore third baseman Star Yeager knocked in three runs. She lifted a sacrifice fly in the first and singled home a run apiece in the second and fourth innings.

Freshman center fielder Sese Graham singled home two to key a three-run third inning that helped Holmes extend its lead to five.

Junior center fielder Kaylee Newman added five RBI for Villa Madonna – she plated two each with singles in the second and third innings and drew a bases-loaded walk in the fourth inning.
