Senior guard Ben Heppler’s game-high 22 points, including 11 in the decisive first quarter, led Covington Catholic to a 77-66 win over Conner on Monday.

Heppler knocked down 5 of 7 shots in the opening period, including all four from inside the arc.

Freshman guard Cole VonHandorf chipped in 15 points in the Colonels’ win, their eighth in a row.

LUDLOW 67, LLOYD 51 – Sophomore guard Kalib Mitchell tallied 14 points and senior forwards Mitchell Cody and Jerad Howard had 13 in the Panthers’ win.

Cody scored eight of his points in the first quarter, including a pair of quick 3-pointers.

Both Mitchell and Cody also pulled down seven rebounds.

DIXIE HEIGHTS 70, VILLA MADONNA 30 – Junior forward Matt Isbel set a career high with 15 points for the Colonels.

Dixie Heights senior guard Brandon Hatton finished with a game-best 16 points and dished for three assists. Fourteen of his points came in the first half.

Colonels sophomore guard Ethan Schulte scored his first four varsity points, hitting a pair of field goals.
