Sophomore guard Ethan Snapp scored 17 first-half points and a game-best 28 overall to pace Newport in a 75-66 win over Cincinnati Oyler on Saturday.

Junior guard Paul Price added 19 points for the Wildcats, which won its third straight game.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 68, BEECHWOOD 31 – Thoroughbreds senior guard Tanner Moeves scored all of his game-high 16 points in the first half, including 12 on four threes in the second quarter.

Juniors guard Zach Pangallo and center Drew McDonald added 11 points each for NewCath.

COVINGTON CATHOLIC 67, HIGHLANDS 29 – Senior center Mark Schult led the Colonels in points (14) and rebounds (9) as the Colonels extended their winning streak to 10 games.

Schult was 6-for-10 from the field and perfect on two free throw attempts. He scored six of his points during the decisive second quarter.

Senior guard Nick Ruthsatz also scored six in the second stanza on a pair of 3-pointers. He finished with 10 points.
