Covington Catholic hit six 3-pointers in the first three minutes and finished 15-for-24 from behind the arc in an 89-56 win over Boone County on Tuesday.

Colonels senior guard Nick Ruthsatz posted a career-best 38 points, hitting 8 of 14 treys. He knocked down four threes in the third quarter and rolled up 14 points in that frame.

Senior guard Ben Heppler helped CovCath get off to a fast start, hitting his first three treys and scoring 11 points in the opening stanza. He finished with 19 points.

CONNER 48, COOPER 41 – Senior forward Landon Lamblez scored 12 points in the fourth quarter for the Cougars.

Lamblez finished with a game-best 20 points, and hit all six of his free throws in the last period.

Senior Andrew Way chipped in 11 points for Conner.

Senior guard Spencer Holland led the Jaguars with 11 points.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 56, HIGHLANDS 28 – Senior forward Jake Schulte scored all 10 of his points in the first quarter as the Thoroughbreds ran out to a 24-point lead.

NewCath sophomore forward Ben Weyer racked up 14 points – seven in the first quarter – and grabbed five rebounds. Senior guard Tanner Moeves finished with 11, including three 3-pointers.

HOLMES 87, RYLE 67 – Bulldogs sophomore guard Markel McClendon set a personal season high with 29 points – nine in the first quarter and 10 in the fourth to help ice the game.

Junior guard James Bolden racked up 22 points – 11 in the third stanza – and eight assists, and senior forward Marcus Hill posted a career-best 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Senior guard Tanner White paced the Raiders with 20 points.
