Senior guard Nick Ruthsatz led four Covington Catholic players in double figures with 19 points as the Colonels beat North Port (Fla.), 65-43 in the championship game of the Suncoast Holiday Classic on Monday.

Senior forward Ben Heppler added 15 points for CovCath, which participated in the 22-year-old tournament for the first time this season.

BOONE COUNTY 69, PARIS 64 – Senior forward Barry Ordu and junior guard Brenden Stanley both went 3-for-4 from the foul line down the stretch to ice it for the Rebels.

Stanley scored 12 of his team-best 21 points in the first half to lead four Boone County players in double figures.

The Rebels opened the game by scoring the first 10 points but had to hold off a late charge.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 56, KNOTT COUNTY CENTRAL 53 – Thoroughbreds senior guard Tanner Moeves knocked down a pair of free throws with seven seconds left in the third-place game of the LexCath Classic.

The Patriots missed a 3-point attempt from the corner as time expired.

Junior forward Drew McDonald was clutch for NewCath, hitting 6 of 7 foul shots in the last period. He led the Thoroughbreds in scoring with 14 points.

SILVER GROVE 81, ST. PATRICK 57 – Junior guard Christian Pollitt scored 14 of his game-high 26 points in the third quarter to pace the Big Trains.

Silver Grove trailed by two entering the second quarter, but senior guard Christopher Lambert netted eight of his 20 points in that stanza to help the Big Trains take a 14-point halftime lead.
