Sophomore guard Ethan Snapp scored 12 points in the fourth quarter as Newport held off Holy Cross, 87-79 in a regional All ‘A’ quarterfinal at Dayton on Thursday.

Snapp led all scorers with 22 points, junior guard Paul Price added 21 and senior guard Mike Turner set a personal season high with 18 in the Wildcats’ win.

Newport will play Beechwood in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. on Friday.

BEECHWOOD 80, HERITAGE 31 – Tigers junior guard Connor Brock scored 11 first-quarter points in a regional All ‘A’ quarterfinal at Dayton.

Brock finished with 17 points in the first half and 22 for the game. Junior guard Jacob Huff added 17 points for Beechwood, all coming in the first two quarters.

Beechwood will play Newport in a semifinal at 6 p.m. on Friday.
