Junior guard James Bolden tallied 29 points – 11 in the second quarter and 13 more in the fourth – as Holmes beat St. Henry, 77-59 on Monday.

Bolden finished 12-for-15 from the free throw line.

Senior forward Quinton Chames added 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to nine games to open the season.

PLEASURE RIDGE PARK 78, NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 70 – The Thoroughbreds were unable to hold the six-point lead they carried into the fourth quarter in their finale at the King of the Bluegrass at Fairdale.

Junior forward Drew McDonald tallied 17 points, and senior center Jake Schulte added 16 as NewCath finished in fourth place.

MASON COUNTY 80, SIMON KENTON 74 – The Royals went on a 9-0 run to start the fourth quarter to erase their two-point deficit.

The Pioneers trailed by two, 74-72, but Mason County – which scored its last 14 points on the foul line – finished the game on a 6-2 run.

Senior forward Taylor Morrison poured in a game-high 31 points, and junior guard Noah Robinson chipped in 10 for Simon Kenton.
