Junior guard Alexis Switzer hit a 3-pointer with less than two minutes remaining to put Boone County ahead for good in a 59-51 win over Louisville Male in the Lady Dragon Invitational at South Oldham on Friday.

The score was tied at 47 before the pivotal trey by Switzer, who led all scorers with 21 points, including six in the fourth quarter.

Junior guard Macey Ford added 11 points for the Rebels, who were 11-for-16 from the foul line down the stretch.

Senior guard Dallis Knotts hit all four of her free throws late to help ice it.

COOPER 64, DIXIE HEIGHTS 52 – Three senior guards – Paige Ross, Savannah Brinneman and Katey Pittman – combined for 43 points to pace the Jaguars.

Ross finished with 15 points and Brinneman and Pittman added 14 each. Pittman hit a pair of 3-pointers during the decisive third quarter, and Ross scored five points in that stanza.

Junior center Liza Tibbs rolled up 22 points for the Colonels.

HIGHLANDS 63, CAMPBELL COUNTY 43 – Sophomore guard Brianna Adler scored 20 points and added four steals for the Bluebirds.

Sophomore forward McKenzie Leigh added 12 points, and sophomore guard Haley Coffey chipped in 11 as Highlands won its fifth straight game.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 60, GREEN COUNTY 43 – Junior forward Alexus Mayes scored eight of the Thoroughbreds’ 16 fourth-quarter points to seal the game at the Ladies Showcase at Glasgow.

Senior forward Nikki Kiernan led NewCath with 15 points, and Mayes finished with 12 as the Thoroughbreds remained unbeaten through seven games.

NEWPORT 61, DAYTON 32 – Wildcats sophomore guard Kylie Orr tallied seven fourth-quarter points to break the game open.

Orr rolled up a game-best 22 points, and sophomore forward Shaunye Stanley recorded 13 points and 16 rebounds for Newport.

SIMON KENTON 61, HARRISON COUNTY 17 – Pioneers senior guard Abby Owings led 12 Pioneers scorers with 16 points at the Lexington Catholic Classic, and she added a pair of assists and two steals.

Simon Kenton allowed just three points in the second half.
