Ruthsatz leads Colonels with 26 points

Senior guard Nick Ruthsatz rolled up 26 points, with 11 coming in the second quarter, as Covington Catholic edged Campbell County, 64-59 in a battle of previously unbeatens on Monday.

Freshman guard Cole VonHandorf and senior center Mark Schult added 14 points each in the Colonels’ win.

Junior guard Deandre Jackson paced the Camels with 17 points, including three of the team’s five 3-pointers.

HOLMES 65, SIMON KENTON 50 – Senior forward Quinton Chames scored seven points in the fourth quarter, which the Bulldogs entered leading by just eight.

Holmes junior guard James Bolden led all scorers with 25 points, and Chames rolled up 20.

Senior guard Taylor Morrison finished with 22 points to lead the Pioneers, who suffered their first loss of the season.

BEECHWOOD 60, COVINGTON LATIN 11 – Junior guard Conner Brock led 11 Tigers scorers, posting seven points in the first quarter and a game-best 10 overall.

Senior guard Max Shover added eight points for Beechwood, all of which came in the opening period.
