Switzer free throws nail down Rebels win

Junior guard Alexis Switzer was 4-for-4 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to ice Boone County’s 63-60 win over Campbell County on Wednesday.

Switzer led all scorers with 24 points, and junior guard Macey Ford added 13 points in the Rebels’ win.

Sophomore guard Taylor Jolly paced the Camels with 15 points.

HOLY CROSS 45, ST. HENRY 37 – Junior forward Ally Mayhaus scored eight fourth-quarter points to lead the Indians in an All ‘A’ quarterfinal at St. Henry.

Mayhaus finished with a game-best 20 points.

Holy Cross freshman guard Aleah Tucker was 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final period to help ice it.

The Indians will play Newport Central Catholic in a semifinal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Crusaders were led by junior guard Sam Hentz’s 10 points.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 67, HERITAGE 20 – Thoroughbreds junior guard Loren Zimmerman finished with 13 points and seven rebounds in an All ‘A’ quarterfinal at St. Henry.

Sophomore guard Ansley Davenport tallied 12 points and junior guard Mikayla Seibert 11 for NewCath, which will play Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Senior guard Abby Stadtmiller scored 15 points and dished for three assists, and senior center Sarah Futscher added 13 points for Brossart, which will play in the regional final at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hendricks finished with 18 points and senior center Madi Meyers tallied 11 points and eight rebounds.

SIMON KENTON 83, SCOTT 38 – Junior forward Magi Bosse racked up nine points during the Pioneers’ 36-point first quarter.

Bosse tallied 15 points and four rebounds for the game. Senior guard Christina Cook chipped in 10 points, five assists and two steals for Simon Kenton.

Sophomore guard Holly Kallmeyer led the Eagles in scoring with 13 points.
