Eighth-grade forward Reagan Atwood recorded her first career double-double as Bellevue rallied to a 46-40 win over Dayton in an All ‘A’ Region 9 quarterfinal at Beechwood on Monday.

Atwood finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Kira Ross tallied 16 points for the Tigers, who will play Lloyd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Henry.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 51, VILLA MADONNA 29 – Thoroughbreds sophomore guard Ashley Davenport tallied 13 points and five rebounds in a Region 9 quarterfinal at NewCath.

Junior guard chipped in eight points for NewCath, which will play Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Senior guard paced the Blue Lightning with 11 points.

NEWPORT 54, LUDLOW 34 – Sophomore forward Kylie Orr scored a game-best 22 points in the Wildcats’ win in a Region 9 All ‘A’ quarterfinal at Beechwood.

Orr rolled up nine points in the first quarter and eight more in the third, including two of her 3-pointers.

Sophomore forward Shaunye Stanley added 11 points for Newport, which won its ninth game in its last 10 and will play Bellevue at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

SIMON KENTON 78, DIXIE HEIGHTS 40 – Senior guard Abby Owings scored eight points in the first quarter as the Pioneers jumped out to an early 14-point lead.

Owings finished with 12 points, four steals, three assists and a block.

Junior forward Maggi Bosse also scored 12 points, and she recorded four steals for Simon Kenton.

Junior center Liza Tibbs rolled up 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks to pace the Colonels.

BRACKEN COUNTY 55, CALVARY CHRISTIAN 35 – Senior guard Sarah Roaden scored 25 of the Cougars’ points in a Region 10 All ‘A’ quarterfinal at NKU.

Roaden also pulled down six boards as Calvary Christian had its four-game winning streak snapped.
