Mustangs win in penalty kicks

Junior goalkeeper Jeff Paulin made two saves in penalty kicks as Brossart pulled off a 1-0 win over Clark County in a Region 10 quarterfinal at Montgomery County on Tuesday.

The Mustangs missed their first PK but converted their next four, capped off by the clinching conversion by senior Drew Miller.

Brossart plays Harrison County in a regional semifinal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

HALFTIME: 0-0. SHUTOUT: B—Paulin. RECORDS: Brossart 17-4, Clark County 11-6-1.

SCOTT 10, MASON COUNTY 0 – Sophomore midfielder Devin Morgan scored four goals and assisted on four other in a Region 10 quarterfinal at Montgomery County.

Morgan netted one goal in the first half to help the Eagles take a 4-0 lead into the break, and he added three more markers in the second half.

Junior Luke Treadway scored three goals – including two in the first half – and picked up two helpers for Scott, which will play host Montgomery County at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Junior Blake Schneider chipped in a pair of goals and one assist as the Eagles’ match was called with two minutes remaining because of the mercy rule.

SOUTH OLDHAM 2, SIMON KENTON 0 – The Dragons ended the Pioneers’ season in a Region 8 semifinal at Collins.
