Senior quarterback Mac Franzen completed 12 of 16 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns as Newport Central Catholic beat Brossart, 41-0 on Saturday.

Junior wide receiver Brandon Gray caught seven of those throws for 92 yards and a pair of TDs, and senior wide receiver Tommy Donnelly added four catches for 62 yards.

Sophomore Jacob Smith led NewCath on the ground, rushing 18 times for 130 yards and three consecutive scores.

With their third straight win, the Thoroughbreds clinched the regular season district title and home-field advantage for the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Brossart finished its district schedule 0-4 and was eliminated from the possibility of postseason play.

NewCath outgained the Mustangs, 160-48 on the ground, 204-14 in the air and 364-62 overall.
