Bishop Brossart prepared for postseason play by blanking a tough Russell squad on its own field, 4-0, on Saturday.
The Mustangs, winners of nine of their last 10 games, got a shutout in goal from Sarah Futscher while four different players scored in the regular season finale.
Senior Abby Stadtmiller registered her team-leading 12th goal of the season, while fellow senior Cori Ziegler added her 11th. Megan Dierig and Amanda Graus also dented the net, while Futscher collected her fourth shutout of the year.
Brossart hopes to carry momentum into the tournament, which starts Monday at Campbell County High School. The Mistangs will open the defense of their 37th District title against Calvary Christian.
