CINCINNATI -- Cole Johnson had a career night as Valley View (2-0) continued its hot offensive start in knocking off Versailles, 44-7.

Johnson racked up 275 all-purpose yards (155 rushing, 99 receiving) and scored three touchdowns. The Spartans had 409 yards of total offense in the victory.

Junior quarterback Clay Smith threw for touchdowns and ran for another. He has accounted for nine scores (four passing, five rushing) in the Spartans' two victories. On defense, Drew Whisman recorded two sacks to give him 4.5 to start his senior season.

Valley View will hit the road for the first of four in a row away from Germantown as the team travels to Madison Senior (1-1) next week.
