Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown kicks off high school football season

CINCINNATI - Defending Ohio champions Moeller, Loveland and Clinton-Massie kick off their seasons in the 17th Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown this week.

The 25-game schedule, featuring the Tri-State's top teams and rivalries, is the traditional kickoff for the Greater Cincinnati high school football season.

There won't be any games at Nippert Stadium this year because of construction, so Loveland will play Lakota West at Miami University's Yager Stadium, Moeller will play Pickerington North at Columbus Crew Stadium and Clinton-Massie will play at Blanchester.

The Yager Stadium doubleheader also features Colerain and LaSalle renewing their neighborhood rivalry after a 10-year hiatus.

West Side rivals Elder and Oak Hills play for the first time since 2008 at Oak Hills.

A tripleheader is scheduled for UC's Sheakley Athletic Center with most of the other games at high school stadiums.

Tickets are at participating schools.  Advance ticket prices vary depending on game location and number of games on site.
