McNicholas senior Tyler Gumbert was voted the WCPO Player of the Week for Week 11, picking up 8,096 votes (35.6 percent).
The Rockets’ linebacker earned the nomination with 12 total tackles and an interception return for a touchdown as McNick knocked off Urbana in the opening week of playoff action.
Gumbert edged Northwest’s Darius Johnson to win the award. Drew Barker of Conner finished third in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 10 players were nominated with 22,757 votes casted.
