PITTSBURGH - The female guest of Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman who claimed she was tied up and robbed in downtown Pittsburgh last month will be charged with filing a false report, according to WTAE in Pittsburgh .
Claudia Manrique told police she was robbed inside Chapman's room at the Omni Willliam Penn while the Reds and Pirates were playing in a game that was delayed by rain on May 29.
Hotel guests heard the 26-year-old woman screaming for just help around 10 p.m. She claimed a man knocked on the door saying he was sent to fix her toilet before he tied her up with napkins and took various items, including jewelry, clothes, a computer, credit cards and identification.
Police reviewed hotel surveillance video and questioned Manrique for several hours.
The Allegheny County district attorney's office has not said what led them to determine Manrique was lying about the robbery.
No other information has been released at this time.
