A record number of University of Kentucky recruits were selected Thursday to play in the 36th annual McDonald's All American Game.

According to an article on ESPN.com , five future Wildcats will lace up their sneakers during the game that will feature 24 of the top high school basketball players in the country. No other team in the history of the event has had five recruits selected to play in the McDonald's game.

The game will be played April 3 in Chicago and televised live at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Point guard Andrew Harrison, shooting guard Aaron Harrison, small forward James Young, power forward Marcus Lee and center Dakari Johnson will all have a chance to shine on a national stage during the all-star contest before making their way to Lexington in the fall. The group makes up the top recruiting class in the country, according to Rivals.com .

Andrew and Aaron Harrison, twins, are joined on the West team by Young and Lee. Johnson is on the East squad.

Kentucky is one of four schools with multiple players on this year's team. Florida (point guard Kasey Hill and power forward Chris Walker), Duke (small forward Jabari Parker and shooting guard Matt Jones) and North Carolina (power forward Isiah Hicks and center Kennedy Meeks) all have two recruits playing in the game.

The Tar Heels lead the way all time in McDonald's All American selections with 62. Duke is second with 52 and Kentucky comes in at No. 3 with 40 all-time selections.

Notre Dame (Demetrius Jackson) and Indiana (Noah Vonleh) also have recruits playing in the game.

Keith Frazier and Aaron Gordon have not committed to a college at this point.
