2 dorms put on lockdown at UC

University of Cincinnati police along with Cincinnati police arrested a man for carrying a weapon in connection to reports of shots fired that caused two dorms to be put on lockdown.

Just after 1:30 a.m. a Campus Crime Alert was sent to students alerting them to "a dangerous situation."

The alert says there was a police emergency in the area of Daniels Hall and Sigma Sigma Commons, at Calhoun and Scioto streets.

Students were told to lock their doors and stay inside. 

An hour later, several suspects were taken into police custody. Another campus alert was sent out giving the all-clear.

Police said Monday that Gregory Green,18, of the 5400 block of Lester Road, Cincinnati, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after officers found a loaded 9mm handgun on his person.
