If you couldn't make it to Opening Day, there’s still plenty of time to see the Cincinnati Reds this season – and for cheap.
Pay attention to these suggestions and go to see the Reds on a budget.
Unlike tickets to see the Cincinnati Bengals or a concert, you can find prices as low as $5 for some seats at Great American Ball Park. There are even decent upper-deck level seats for $15.
If you have children, Reds Senior Vice President of Business Operations Karen Forgus said Sunday afternoon is the best time to buy tickets at a family discount price.
"We always have Sundays, which is family day, and any time a family of four comes up, three get half-price (tickets) as long as one person pays full," Forgus said.
Forgus said another great way to save on tickets is to purchase a discounted six-pack .
The package, which starts at $72, guarantees you a commemorative Homer Bailey Dual No-Hitter Bobblehead on May 10, 2014 and tickets to five other games of your choice.
"The way that package works is you get that Saturday in May, and you pick the other five games to fit your schedule,” Forgus said. “So to me, it’s the best price value, certainty with the giveaway, and it works with anyone’s schedule."
Great American Ball Park also utilizes “dynamic pricing” for single-game ticket sales.
Dynamic pricing is the act of changing the price of a specific seating section for a specific game over time.
Price adjustments are made based on multiple factors including the day of the week, month, team performance, visiting team performance, weather forecast and more.
For example, games against non-contenders are cheaper than games against St. Louis, Atlanta or other hot teams -- often $10 less per seat.
Bottom line, as family events go, taking in a Reds game at Great American Ball Park is one of the most affordable family activities you can do in the Tri-State.
And that way, you don’t waste your money.
