Cincinnati Reds announce All-Star Game ticket policy for season-ticket holders

CINCINNATI - Want to buy tickets for the July 14, 2015 All-Star Game, plus All-Star Workout Day and All-Star Sunday, through the Reds?

Better buy season tickets.

Anybody can buy Fan Fest tickets separately, but Reds season-ticket holders will have first opportunity to purchase tickets for the main All-Star events through the club, according to the ticket policy announced Thursday.

That's the usual policy for the host team, and odds are season-ticket holders will buy all of the Reds' allotment.

But know this: if you are not a 2014 season-ticket holder, you are only guaranteed a chance to buy All-Star event tickets if you buy a 2015 full-season or half-season package. New buyers who choose a 20-game package only get a chance to buy All-Star tickets from the Reds allotment if any are left. They would have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive All-Star Game presale, according to the Reds.

Tickets for the 2015 All-Star events at Great American Ball Park are sold in full strips only. A strip consists of a ticket to:

> All-Star Game,
> All-Star Workout Day including Home Run Derby,
> All-Star Sunday,
> Two All-Star Fan Fest tickets,
> An official 2015 All-Star Game Commemorative Program.

Tickets prices have not been released. Fan Fest will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

To be eligible to buy All-Star strips, current season-ticket holders must renew their tickets for 2015 by the deadline and new 2015 season-ticket holders must pay in full or sign up for autopay by Nov. 1.

The location and number of seats available for purchase depends upon:

> Size of season ticket plan (Premium, Full-Season, 40-Game plan or 20-Game plan)
> Tenure as a season-ticket holder
> Number of seats in a season ticket plan.

Current and new full- and half-season ticket holders can buy as many All-Star strips as they have season tickets.

Current 20-game season ticket holders can buy up to two All-Star strips.

Current season ticket holders with one seat will be able to purchase one All-Star strip.

If any All-Star strips remain, new 20-game season ticket holders would be eligible for a pre-sale opportunity to buy two All-Star strips, based on availability.  Partial Plan holders with one seat would be eligible to purchase one All-Star strip.
