Boone County overcame a pair of three-goal deficits in the Fayette County Soccer Spectacular last month, resulting in a win and a tie.
The Rebels continued this season’s comeback theme as they scored three goals in 10 minutes in the second period en route to beating Ryle, 4-3 on Monday.
Boone County junior Brett Mayberry found the net to open the scoring, but Ryle netted three straight goals to take a two-goal lead.
But Boone County forward Haven Borkowski, who assisted on the Rebels’ first goal, scored consecutive goals to tie it, and senior midfielder Evan O’Hara netted the game-winning goal for Boone County.
All three late Rebels goals occurred in a 10-minute span as Ryle’s seven-match winning streak was snapped.
HALFTIME: Ryle, 2-1. GOALS: BC—Borkowski 2, Mayberry, O’Hara. R—Aguirre 2, Hutcherson. RECORDS: Boone County 10-4-1, Ryle 6-4-1.
