A lesbian couple from Arkansas held a wedding ceremony in Kansas to show support for marriage equality.
Kimberly Kidwell and Katie Short said their vows Saturday in front of the Equality House, right across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka.
The Equality House is painted in rainbow colors and is used to promote peace.
"We're trying to put pressure on the Supreme Court to do the right thing and uphold the American values of loving each other, showing compassion, you know really finding our strength in our diversity," said Davis Hammet, a resident of the Equality House.
The Supreme Court is expected to rule on same-sex marriage soon, and both Kidwell and Short hope justices get the message.
Neither Arkansas nor Kansas recognize same-sex marriage.
The couple says marriage license or not, they're still excited and their marriage is real to them.
