CINCINNATI - A woman whose vehicle hit and killed a 3-year-old boy in Westwood earlier this month was indicted Wednesday by a grand jury on four felony charges including aggravated vehicular homicide.
Sheba Basabose, 35, was indicted on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, one count of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of vehicular assault.
The charges stem from an accident that occurred Oct. 8 on McHenry Avenue.
Cincinnati police said Basabose lost control of her car which crossed over the double yellow lines and ran up onto the sidewalk in the 3000 block of McHenry at about 4:45 a.m.
Jocelyn Austin was walking with her three sons to a babysitter's house when Basabose lost control of her 2000 Honda Accord. The car struck a utility pole and then hit Austin and two of her sons.
One of the sons, 3-year-old Rodriguez Taylor, was taken to Children's Hospital Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Also Injured in the crash was 1-year-old Ricardo Taylor.
Officials closed the intersection of McHenry and Harrison avenues to traffic for several hours while crews work to clear the scene and investigate the crash.
