Behind the iPhone's magic virtual "assistant" is an actual person.

While Apple won't confirm the claim, an Atlanta woman says 'I am the voice of Siri.' After years of curiosity, Susan Bennett says that she became the voice of Siri in 2005.

For four hours a day, every single day, Bennett was in a recording booth, reading phrases and sentences so that "ubergeeks" could compile vowels, consonants and syllables while playing with her pitch and speed, according to CNN.

Six years later, Apple released it's iPhone 4S - the first of the iPhone generation to feature the voice-activated Siri.

After the phones release, Bennett says that people started asking her if the voice was her. After multiple questions and years of curiosity, Bennett decided to come forward. An audio-forensics expert with 30 years of experience has studied both voices and says he is "100%" certain the two are the same.

Bennett fell into voice work by "accident" in the 1970s. Today, she can be heard worldwide. She's the voice in countless commercials, phone systems and is the voice of certain GPS devices, says CNN.
