CINCINNATI - The man arrested following a SWAT standoff in Price Hill was issued a $525,000 bond when he appeared in court Thursday morning.
Authorities arrested 35-year-old Justin Gilbert at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home located in the 1000 block of Parkson Place.
"I got a phone call and they let us know my nephew's in the house, and he's surrounded by SWAT outside, and we don't know why , or what the problem was," said Shawn Cotton, Gilbert's uncle.
Gilbert had already been wanted on two counts of burglary and for allegedly firing shots in a nearby cul-de-sac early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Officials closed Warsaw Avenue between Grand Avenue and Wilder Road at about 9:15 a.m. and reopened it shortly after the suspect's arrest.
Negotiators spent about an hour attempting to get Gilbert out of the house.
"He got out, they put him in handcuffs and took him downtown," Shawn Cotton said.
Gilbert's grandmother, Pam Cotton, was just relieved the incident ended peacefully.
"I'm just glad my grandson is okay," she said.
