Kasich wants all contracts cancelled

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Governor Ted Strickland is urging Governor-elect John Kasich toreconsider his stance on the passenger rail.

Kasich has vowed to kill the project, calling it a waste ofmoney.

"Many Ohioans are still out of work," Strickland wrote in amessage to Kasich. "We badly need new jobs in Ohio and cannotafford to squander significant job creation opportunities. I urgeyou not to begin your administration by foregoing significant near-and long-term employment opportunities for struggling Ohioans."

The passenger rail would connect Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbusand Cleveland.

Kasich will be sworn in as Ohio's Governor in January.
