CLEVELAND - Auto thieves are apparently targeting cars made in Ohio.
According to a report released by the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Honda Accord, assembled in Marysville, was the most stolen vehicle in the U.S. last year, with more than 58,000 thefts.
The Honda Civic came in second, with more than 47,000 thefts.
The report said most of the thefts involved older Honda models. Newer Hondas rarely are stolen because of improved anti-theft technology.
The rest of the top 10 most stolen vehicles nationwide are the full-size Ford pickup, full-size Chevrolet pickup, Toyota Camry, Dodge Caravan, full-size Dodge pickup, Acura Integra, Nissan Altima and Nissan Maxima.
