HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Police say a western Kentucky man has died after his vehicle ran into the side of a train engine.

Hopkinsville police say 24-year-old Justin R. Johnson of Hopkinsville was fatally injured when his vehicle turned over into an adjacent culvert, ejecting him.

An engineer and conductor were on board the CSX train. Police said neither was injured.

The conductor told police Johnson didn't try to slow down or stop. Another witness said the signals were working just before the collision.
