CINCINNATI, Ohio - The son of Cincinnati Congressman Steve Chabot was found guilty of making false alarms and criminal trespassing on Thursday.
A judge sentenced Brandon Chabot to a total of 210 days in the jail, and all 210 days were suspended. Chabot was also fined a total of $1,250 plus court costs.
In February, police found Chabot intoxicated outside the McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital annex on Morning Sun Road in Oxford. Police say he broke out two windows and claimed he worked in the building.
Chabot is a student at Miami University.
After the arrest, Congressman Chabot released the following statement:
"Every family faces challenges at times. Ours is no different. He's our son and we love him."
