VILLA HILLS, Ky. - An investigation into the mayor of Villa Hills proved to be a distraction at Wednesday's city council meeting, where several residents voiced their concerns.

Mayor Mike Martin refuses to step down, even after the findings of an investigation.

That investigation says the mayor improperly fulfilled open records requests, improperly destroyed or burned documents and spent city money without purchase orders or submitting bids.

"He's not in the interests of the people in this city. His actions are vindictive. His actions are illegal, as proven by the investigation," said Villa Hills resident Mike Augur.

The mayor has not been charged with any crimes, but several residents say they'd like to see him step down or be replaced.
