CINCINNATI -- Taste of Belgium is pulling up stakes and leaving Northern Kentucky.
Restaurant owners said Tuesday that they have closed their location at Friendly Market on Norbotten Drive in Florence. The restaurant closed the location Sunday.
Friendly Market opened in Sept. 2013 and Taste of Belgium was one of the original merchants.
“We have enjoyed our time serving some of our delicious products to the surrounding Northern Kentucky community,” Taste of Belgium owner Jean-Francois Flechet said via a release. “Both personally and as a business entity, we will continue to support our fellow merchants who operate within Friendly Market.”

The restaurateur said closing the N.Ky. operation will allow them to focus more on the other four locations.
He admitted the decision was tough but necessary.
The restaurant has locations in Over-the-Rhine, Clifton, Findlay Market and in Columbus’ North Market. A third full-service location should open in Rookwood in spring 2015.
“We have had a lot of fun thus far, and we are eager to see what new ways we can serve the Cincinnati area and beyond”, added Flechet. “We are so very thankful for all of the wonderful support we continuously receive, particularly from our fans all over the Greater Cincinnati area.”
