Northern Kentucky residents have been receiving phone calls recently asking them to donate and raise money to the Kentucky Firefighters EMS.

But President of the Northern Kentucky Firefighter's Association John Seitz said those calls are not only fake -- they're from scammers trying to take your money.

Seitz said Thursday none of the Northern Kentucky fire stations are aware of any such fundraising going on.

Sietz said these callers concentrate on the area you live in and ask for money money for that specific fire station. \

The caller ID phone number for this scam is 877-852-5383.

The only known fundraising attempts going on at this time are with the Kentucky Professional Firefighters Association.

The Firefighter's Association asks the public to report any of these calls to their local fire department.
