BURLINGTON, Ky. – Deputies arrested a Boone County man Friday they say is behind nine thefts and burglaries in and around Burlington, Kentucky.
Authorities said Damian Ewing, 25, stole items like mowers, weed wackers, blowers and a power washer. They said his crimes started on June 27 and happened mostly on Fridays.
Ewing told detectives he sold the equipment to support his heroin habit.
Deputies spotted Ewing walking through Burlington Friday, July 11 at about 1:30 p.m. and stopped to speak to him. They then determined Ewing had two out-of-county warrants issued for his arrest.
After speaking with him more, they also gathered enough information to charge him with two of nine thefts he’s accused of, deputies said.
Ewing is charged with flagrant non-support, absconding probation and parole warrants, theft by unlawful taking (more than $500), theft of identification and giving an officer false information.
Detectives said they anticipate additional charges when lab submissions return.
