BATESVILLE, Ind. -- A 9-year-old girl was killed in a crash Saturday night.
The crash occurred on Interstate 74 in Franklin County about 2 miles west of the Batesville exit just before midnight, according to Indiana State Police. A Cedar Grove man was driving his 2013 Kia Soul eastbound on I-74 when he lost control and went off the side of the road, where the SUV hit a tree, drove through a fence and rolled over several times.
The 9-year-old passenger was transported to Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, where she died. The driver was treated there for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Indiana State Police were still investigating the crash.
