Clermont County, OH - According to the Ohio State Patrol, two people died in a head-oncollision on North I-275, underneath the Wards Corner Road overpassin Clermont County.
Investigators are still trying to gather details, but said25-year-old Julie Belliston-Anuszkiewicz of West Chester, wasdriving Southbound on the Northbound side of the highway where shestruck a van.
Police say there were five people in the van.
"A 41-year-old mother of four. She had a couple daughtersin the van going to a recital. She had another mother in thevan with her as well as her daughter, going to what I was told adance recital," said Sgt. Kevin Long with the Ohio StateHighway Patrol.
The 41-year-old mother of four was Lori Morris of Milford. Morris and Anuszkiewicz were killed.
Morris' children in the van, a 14-year-old and a 10-year-oldwere taken to the hospital. Also another mother, 37-year-oldCindy Blair and her 14-year-old were taken to the hospital. Police say all have serious to critical injuries.
Those close to the family say the five were heading to a cheercompetition in Columbus representing Midwest Cheer Elite in WestChester.
Some of the girls on the team still competed Sunday inColumbus. The owner of Midwest Cheer Elite issued a statementSunday evening referencing the tragedy and the competitionincluding " it's like celebrating the holidays when there's justnothing to celebrate."
Considering the girls involved went to Milford schools, therewill be grief counselors on hand Monday morning at PattisonElementary School, Milford Junior High and Milford High School.
Police are still trying to figure out how the car got on theinterstate in the wrong direction.
I-275 was closed for over three hours this morning, but hasreopened to traffic.
