JACKSON TWP., Ohio - Three people were transported to local medical facilities after a semi-tractor trailer jackknifed in Clermont County Wednesday afternoon. Two of the people injured were children.

Barbara Pohl, 28, of Lynchurbug, was driving a 2005 Saturn Ion northbound on Glancy Corner Marathon Road around 3 p.m. when she traveled left of center and struck a southbound 2007 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Saturn traveled off the east side of the road after impact. The semi traveled off the west side and overturned.

The road was closed from the time of the accident until 11:04 p.m.

Pohl was transported by Jackson Township EMS to Clermont Mercy Hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries. Two children, ages 3 and 9, were transported by UC Aircare to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. One of the children had serious but non life-threatening injuries, according to the press release. The other child sustained minor injuries.

The names of the children have not been released.

The driver of the semi, Charles Mack, 58, of Batavia, was not injured in the crash.

Police say it appears that seat belts and child safety seats were used.

Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
