MOUNT ORAB, Ohio - Officials arrested a man wanted for a fatal shooting in Mount Orab over the weekend.
Police arrested 24-year-old Joseph Trzeiciak early Monday morning in Michigan after he was named as a suspect in the shooting death of James Mootispaw, 27, on Friday evening.
Trzeiciak allegedly fled the scene of the shooting in a 2001 black Mazda pick-up truck.
Law enforcement officials confirmed late Friday evening that a fatal shooting took place at the Hyde Park Apartments located at 1 Hyde Park Drive.
Longtime residents said they'd never seen the victim before.
"It's usually pretty quiet here," said Donna Fritz, who lives in building where the shooting took place. "It's surprising that anything like this happened. Especially since you know, a lot of kids playing around here. He was just here visiting."
It's the first homicide investigation in the community in three decades, according to local law enforcement.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3715.
