Second report of possible grenades turns up duds in Camp Washington

CINCINNATI - Just hours after three grenades with pins in them were found at a Goodwill store in Woodlawn, the Hamilton County Bomb squad received a report of two more grenades found near Starr Printing Services in Camp Washington on Monday.

The Cincinnati Police Department and bomb squad unit set up a staging area at Spring Grove and Ralston  avenues at approximately 11:30 a.m. after receiving a report that two grenades were found on Spring Grove Avenue.

Once on the scene officials determined the two grenades found in Camp Washington had the gunpowder removed and that they were not live devices.

Bomb squad crews disposed of the devices.

Earlier, the bomb squad responded to a call where three l ive grenades were found in Woodlawn at the Goodwill Action Auction . Goodwill employees reported those grenades were found in a shoebox left at a donation bin.

Crews removed those devices for X-ray and disposal.

Police cleared both scenes.
