CINCINNATI -  The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has announced tentative plans to hold a Mass next week to celebrate the election of a new pope.

The Mass is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. March 19 at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, downtown.

"We're going out on a limb and assuming by next Tuesday there's going to be a new pope," Dan Andriacco, communications director for the archdiocese, said Tuesday – the first day of the conclave in Vatican City to elect a new pope.

Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Binzer will officiate at Tuesday's Mass because Archbishop Dennis Schnurr will be on vacation, Andriacco said.
